Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position at the department of mathematics, Tampere University of Technology (TUT). The inverse problems group at TUT, led by professor Mikko Kaasalainen, is part of the Finnish Centre of Excellence in Inverse Problems Research, and has an extensive domestic and international collaboration network. The group carries out interdisciplinary research, currently with applications in space research, environmental sciences, remote sensing, astrophysics, and mathematical physics.

The Finnish National Graduate School in Mathematics and its Applications Graduate School is a graduate school funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture, and it comprises the following universities: University of Helsinki (coordinating unit), University of Eastern Finland, University of Jyväskylä, University of Oulu, University of Tampere, Tampere University of Technology, Aalto University (2 units), University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University. The Graduate School has altogether 15 doctoral student positions funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture.
