Workshop on Inverse Problems

Wednesday 8 December 2010
Seminar room TD308, Department of Mathematics

The inverse problems research group at TUT holds a workshop on current topics in inverse problems on Wednesday 8 December 2010 (seminar room TD308, Department of Mathematics). The workshop is completely informal and open to all: our purpose is to discuss common mathematical and computational aspects of problems in various fields. No registration required. Welcome!

Prof. Mikko Kaasalainen, Department of Mathematics

Program (TD308):

10-10.15 Mikko Kaasalainen (TUT, Math): Overview
10.15-11 Josef Durech (Charles Univ., Prague): Determining asteroid shapes from lightcurves, adaptive optics images, and stellar occultations
11-11.45 Jari Niemi (TUT, Sign/Math): Error-corrected estimation of regional distributions of kinetic model parameters directly from PET projections without regularization

13-13.45 Pasi Raumonen (TUT, Math): Approximation of biomass and branch size distribution of trees from laser scanner data
13.45-14.30 Janne Tamminen (TUT/Helsinki Univ., Math): Direct reconstruction methods in EIT and heat probing
14.30-15.15 Matti Viikinkoski (TUT, Math): General shape reconstruction from boundary curves and areas of projections

This workshop is part of the activity of the Finnish Centre of Excellence in Inverse Problems Research.
