A Workshop on Mathematical Systems Theory

Monday, 8.11.2010 - 13:11

The Mathematical systems theory research group at TUT organizes a workshop on infinite-dimensional systems on Thursday 18.11.2010 at 10.15-16.

The keynote lecture is given by Professor Hans Zwart (University of Twente, Netherlands), a renowned researcher in the field of infinite-dimensional systems theory and an author of “An Introduction to Infinite-Dimensional Linear Systems Theory” by R. Curtain & H. Zwart (Springer, 1995).

The main talk focuses on applications in which the insight to the control of infinite-dimensional systems is required. These applications range from water treatment and energy to climate and medicine. In addition, selected open mathematical problems linked to infinite-dimensional systems theory are discussed.

The program:

Room Tb219:
10.15-12: Hans Zwart - “Opportunities for Infinite-Dimensional Systems”.

Room Td308:
13.15-14: Timo Hämäläinen - “Regulation of Systems with Infinite-Dimensional Exosystems”
14.15-15: Petteri Laakkonen - “Structure at Infinity and Root Locus”
15.15-16: Lassi Paunonen - “Robust Regulation with Periodic Exosystems”

The intention of the workshop is to present and discuss current research, new results and open problems in an informal atmosphere.

The workshop is open for everyone. No registration required!
